The new website revisions are live, and we're already seeing some good feedback and increased response, so thanks again to everyone who worked on that.

Thumbprint 1.1 continues to be hammered away on. There are a lot of changes under the hood, but the most exciting thing for me is to be able to update the look to match more closely the iOS7 aesthetic.  It's much lighter, brighter, and less buttony. The bug list is finally starting to shrink, so I'm hopeful that a release is close at hand.

Finally, a big shout out to our QA staff. Sometimes the work sucks, but it's invaluable and allows us to catch what would otherwise be very nasty bugs. You have really stepped up your game so far this year, so thank you.

Review

Both Thumbprint 1.1 and the Web App are still in development. We found some stuff in the 1.1 Beta that still needs some refining, so we're taking our time to make sure we get it right.

In other news, our website is undergoing a substantial overhaul, mostly about making it clearer exactly what the app does, as well as explaining all the ways we help schools to get everything up and running. When it's done, we'll announce it here.

Review

Web App development continues, as does work on Thumbprint 1.0.3. We found a couple of issues in the multiple choice creation screen that are affecting some users. Testing is underway, and I'm hopeful that we can submit our fixes to Apple before the end of the year.

Multiple Choice for the web app has been submitted for testing, and early results look promising. Search is being held up by an interdependence issue that raised it's head this week, but that should be resolved by tomorrow.

Meanwhile, we've had what feels like 4 feet of snow this week, and more coming on the weekend. Haven't seen a December like this in 20 years. It's beautiful, right up until you try to go outside and do something. Hope you're keeping warm where you are.

October 10th, Review

It's Thursday.  Time to look at how we've done so far.

1. Development on both the Web version of Thumbprint and the Reporting suite are proceeding very well.  Still a ways to go, but it's nice to see progress.  The iPad app took months before we had anything concrete to play with, so even being able to log in via a browser or see raw reporting data after just a few weeks makes me feel good.

2. Change up on our weekly publishing schedule.  For various reasons I've decided to move the link dump from Friday to Monday, and the editorial from Monday to Friday.  That means the editorial I didn't provide at the beginning of this week will happen tomorrow instead.  I hope this schedule will be better for you.  It will certainly be easier for me.

3. 500 likes. You made it.  I owe you one thank-you song. I have not forgotten. Watch this space.
